Winter Squash. An heirloom acorn variety with dark green skin and an average size of 2-3lbs, with a 6” diameter. With a deliciously nutty flavour, they are excellent for baking or stuffing. Plants are also resistant to squash bugs.

Conserve space by growing on a large trellis. Hand-pollination will ensure fruit production (female flowers will form later, and will have a miniature fruit at their base). Excess male blossoms can be harvested and fried in butter for a summer delicacy. Fertilize plants weekly and water regularly. Once cured, squash will store well for several months. Harvest when skin is hard enough not to be punctured by your nail. Make sure to leave a 1” stem.

Harvest: 80 days

Height: vines of 6-8’

Plant Spacing: 4-6’
