Also called “Chamoe” in its native Korea, these golden jewels are a must-eat summer melon. Their taste is sweet, similar to a pear or honeydew, with a texture that is lightly crisp and extremely juicy. They are unique compared to other melons, in that both the rind and seeds are edible. Early maturity, high yields, and good performance in cooler climates makes this an excellent choice for a first-time melon grower.

Plant in very rich soil and provide regular fertilization, as these are heavy feeders. Providing a trellis will enhance the rate of pollination. Plants can be grown in 15-17” containers. Harvest when melons are roughly 5” long and 3.5” wide. Tapping the melon will produce a hollow sound and fruit will slip easily off the vine.

Harvest: 65 days

Height: vines of 3-4’

Plant Spacing: 18-36”
